WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?
Here are a few things you need to be aware of before you enter the
event or a particular Championship Round:
- You need to be a financial member
of a CAMS affiliated car club - and you will have to produce
your membership card on the day of the event.
- You need to have a valid CAMS L2S
licence or superior - and you will need to produce it on the day
of the event.
- You need to know the Category & Class
of your vehicle - We have provided an overview in the section "My
Category & Class", full details however may be found in the Technical
Regulations.
- You will need to bring your Dorian
Transmitter - if you don't have a Dorian Transmitter then you can
hire one for $10. If you hire a Dorian can it can be secured in
your vehicle on the day with no damage whatsoever to your vehicle.
- You can hire a Garage at the circuit
- to do this you will need to deal directly with the circuit management
prior to the event. The relevant contact numbers are provided
with the Supplementary Regulations for the event in question.
- The VSSC will be determined over
three Championship Rounds - full details are provided in the Sporting
Regulations.
- There will be Trophy winners in each
Championship Round - whilst it will take three Championship Rounds
to determine the Championship winners and placegetters, there will be
Outright and Class Trophies for winners and placegetters in each Championship
Round as well.
- The points you earn in each round
contribute to your championship chances - In each Championship Round
you will earn points based on your outright position in the field.
The points you earn in each round are accumulated and your Championship
position for outright, category and class are determined by your 'cumulative
points'. How points are earned and places determined is described
in the Sporting Regulations.
- If you enter one Championship Round
your entry gets preference in the next round - preference is given
to those who entered the 1st Championship Round when entries for the
2nd and subsequent rounds are considered.
- There will be a noise limit at Sandown
- There will be a noise limit at Sandown of 75 dbA and may be one at
Phillip Island. Read the Supplementary Regulations to note the
noise limit for the relevant circuit and the Sporting Regulations to
determine what happens if you breach it.
- There will be a restriction on the
type of vehicle that can be run in the Sandown round of this event.
It is the a condition of circuit hire at Sandown that vehicles 'be capable
of road registration' not they they have to be registered. Scrutiny
will determine if a vehicle is not 'capable of road registration'.
See the Technical Regulations.
- Open-wheel vehicles will almost certainly
not be eligible for the Sandown round - However, this will apply
to all open-wheel vehicles and will not diminish the chances of a Competitor
winning a trophy either overall or in the other rounds.
